Kitchen Transformation

When we moved into our house six years ago we painted everything. I mean EVERYTHING! Every wall, ceiling, cabinet, trim and baseboards. The kitchen was one of the biggest transformations.

The kitchen was dark, dated, and ORANGE! I knew that paint could really lighten up the room and bring it to life. We painted the cabinets with Sherwin Williams- Pearly White. This made the biggest difference and made the kitchen so much brighter!

We painted the walls Sherwin Williams- Grey Area. We used half of the formula to make it a bit lighter color of grey.

We tore out the old, dated laminate counters and back splash.

After visiting several granite yards I picked out White Ice granite for our counters. We hired a local contractor to install the granite.

I chose white subway tile and dark charcoal granite for the backsplash. My husband and friend installed the subway tile backsplash.

It’s always amazing to me what a difference some paint can make! It is so much brighter and airy in our kitchen now. There are still some updates I want to make. Next on my list is new light fixtures. Stay tuned and help me decide on next light fixtures for our kitchen!
