Cedar Plank Wood Wall
I knew I wanted a wood accent wall for my sons bedroom. I just needed to convince my husband to help me. I showed him all of my Pinterest inspiration and he was quickly on board.

wood boards along studs
Process
I chose to stain my boards first. I used Minwax stains and alternated colors to get a good variety of each stain color. While I worked on staining the boards (in the garage), my husband was in our sons room nailing boards along the studs.
Once I was done staining and everything was dry, it was time to start nailing up the boards. we started at the top and worked our way down. We nailed a longer board then continued placing different length boards on either side until a row was complete. We continued the process on each row making sure to stagger the board placement, to ensure none of them lined up vertically.
Towards the bottom of the wall we had to measure around the electrical outlet. Then place the cover back over the outlet. Outlet spacers may be necessary here. These are the ones I used.
Over all it took about 3 days from start to finish. I was really picky about my stain colors and even made my own mixture and colors. I am thrilled with the results! So far we have not added any decor to the wall because its such a statement on its own.
